Miss Fu I Yuan, whom I had the privilege of befriending when I was on my exchange in Monash University, was on her way back to Taiwan last July (2003). I know it is a little late for posting these photos now, but better late than never right? She took a year long exchange program instead of the usual 6 month one and had just finished her course. En route to Taiwan, she sent me an email requesting help to dispel her boredom while in transit... so being the nice person I am (ahem), I brought her to eat and sight see... Jacky Wu style.

Resting before the eating and sight seeing |
First stop, we travelled down to City Hall, to the small back alley famous for its "Char Kway Teow" - Armenian Street. This stall is infamous for its "attitude", where the closing hours of the stall is closely dependant on the sale of the noodle. Luckily, when we went there in the afternoon, it was still open. Phew.
2nd stop was Little India, where we continued to eat the Chicken Byrani from yet another famous stall.

|
2nd stop: Chicken bryani at Zhujiao Market. |
Following that, we travelled to Chinatown where we tried the "shi1 lu3 wei4", an oldtime favourite of my mom... Although there were many ingredients swimming in the sauce, we didn't really bother with identifying them as they tasted good... heh heh.

|
3rd stop: Shi Lu Wei... Delicacy introduced by my mom. |

Here in front of our Merlion, where its puking its guts out. |
Finally, after 5 hours of eating and sight seeing, it is time to send her on her way back to Taiwan. Before that, we saw the innards of the Durian Dome, and had a rest before rushing to the airport to catch her flight home. Its a tiring day but it was worth it.

All good things will come to an end. |
